Miss Jane Doe recently decided her fat ass wouldn’t fit into the Whitehouse . . .
Or, Miss Jane Doe has thrust her impressively large bosoms into the campaign for governor . . .
From mycentraljersey.com comes this observation:
“Last week, Christie (dramatically) took his big body out of the chase for the GOP presidential nomination.”
Okay, enough of that. The article is interesting, asserting that due to a new redistricting plan authored by state Democrats, the Legislature will be controlled by the Democrats in four weeks and Christie will be hobbled. Could be. If Christie has a number of losses in New Jersey over the next several years, that might not be the most auspicious background from which to start a 2016 presidential campaign.

The most exciting news in electric cars ever in the history of the world has been announced.
The guy who current owns the DeLorean Motor Company (and all the old inventory) has been servicing and rebuilding DeLorean’s for years. But now he might actually be making brand new DeLoreans (the photos are are of the prototype, which uses existing Delorean components for the body and interior, but the actual production cars will supposedly be all new fabrication).
More on the future awesomeness of the DMCEV. BTW, the batteries for the DMCEV are coming from a company called Flux Power. Could it be any more perfect?
Expect many updates from me as this story progresses. Suck it, Leaf.
The most. Exciting. And. Awesome. Electric. Car. Evah!

Uggh…can someone who is more tech savy than myself make that clever comic readable?

Made it readable. Mostly luck, I just took the original URL and backed up on it until we got to the point where it was the original sized comic.I would also like to be subsidized. 😉

Great cartoon. I thought this was slightly funny also, but only if you've been following the Breitbart OWS email kerfuffle and Taibbi's excellent response.Breitbart proudly “breaks” broken news.[ 23 ] October 17, 2011 | SEKItem #1 (16 October 2011): BREAKING NEWS! MUST CREDIT BREITBART! MATT TAIBBI WRITES ON DOUBLE-SUPER-SECRET JOURNOLIST 2.0 LISTSERV THAT THE OWS PROTESTERS SHOULD IDENTIFY AND FOCUS ON A FEW SIMPLE DEMANDS! MUST CREDIT BREITBART!Item #2 (12 October 2011): Matt Taibbi, in his Rolling Stone column, writes that “the time is rapidly approaching when the movement is going to have to offer concrete solutions to the problems posed by Wall Street. To do that, it will need a short but powerful list of demands. There are thousands one could make, but [he]‘d suggest focusing on five.”The lesson? The material on this list is so volatile it can only be published in a national magazine four days before Breitbart exposes it on the internet.

I love Calvin and Hobbes. Unfortunately, if this were written today, the little boy's lemonade stand would be shut down by overzealous code enforcement officers.

Loovvvee Calvin and Hobbes. Perhaps the best comic strip ever. Along with Peanuts.

Scott- Doesn't it sort of mock the sense of entitlement and point out how all these regulations cause prices to go up? I don't think it covers all of the various emotions and convictions, but it seems to point out the problems of both sides pretty evenly.

I don't see how it mocks both sides at all. Suzie is the voice of reason, while Calvin is oblivious.

ashot:I think it pretty clearly demonstrates the caricatured view held on the left of how businesses are run. Note that the cost of health and environmental regs is Calvins excuse for ignoring them. It is hardly an even-handed mocking.

Mocking is almost never even-handed, Scott. What would be the fun in that??? :-)Thrilled for you about the DeLorean, KW! And the owner must have a sense of humor, to be using Flux batteries.

Michi, I'm sure he does. I don't know that I'd ever be able to afford a DMCEV–I'm sure it'll be a boutique car like the Tesla. But I love the idea, love the concept of new DeLorean fabrication, and hope this turns out well. BTW, some people argue that The Federal Government worked with GM to frame (or, more likely, entrap) DeLorean on charges of drug trafficking. Which kind of goes back to previous discussions on government/business collusion in market distortion. He did demonstrate entrapment, but by then DeLorean Motor Company was out of business, which some might argue was the point.

Bill Watterson is frickin' brilliant. Got respect the Calvin and Hobbes. Scientific progress goes boink!

Although I will never forgive Watterson for retiring to learn how to play guitar and live his life in peace. He has a moral obligation to supply the world with endless Calvin and Hobbes brilliance!Time for a government mandate, if you ask me. "I'm sorry, Mr. Watterson, but your comic strips are just too important to the morale of the nation to let you noodle on a guitar by a lake for the rest of your days."

Mocking both sides: mocks unions, demanding high wages and benefits, and mocks non-competetive companies that go to the government to survive off of the tax payer.Just put the name "Solyndra" over the word "Lemonade" and think about it.

Scott-But it's a caricatured view…put out by Calvin, who is largely an idiot and always uninformed. So the fact that a child is saying things that are actually said by some people on the left is mocking the left. The fact that there is a smidgen of truth to it in some cases is making fun of those one the right. At least that is how I read the article.
