Bites and Pieces: The Book

Hi all,

I was searching through some old comment threads to track down a particular response of Scott’s awhile ago. In the course of doing that, I saw a lot of interesting Bites & Pieces posts. Some of which I’d completely forgotten about.

I was thinking about going through them and compiling the Bites & Pieces into one record for ATiMers, past and present. Perhaps an exercise for when I’m in Sequesterville. We are forbidden by law from doing anything work related while on furlough, so I may as well make some use of my time.

  1. Splendid idea. One of these days I’ll get around to trying your Palak Paneer.

  2. Looking forward to it. Do you have a program that will catalog recipes in some way? I’ll bet one exists.

    Maybe it could be published…

  3. I used to have a program like that, Mark, and it would even generate a shopping list once you picked out your recipe(s). But I was running it on a computer with a 286 chip, which tells you how long ago it was. . .

I’m sure they make something like it nowadays, though. It’d be nice if you could scan recipes or upload them from Word files, though. Now I’ll have to look into it.

    • If it will run on a 286, and you find it, we can load freedos on a current computer and probably make it work. Gotta remember all those dos keystrokes.

  4. Hi folks,

I’ll get to work on this. It’ll be fun.

    Cheers,

[Scott – Yup. My guess is that it’s some sort of protection against employees being forced to do uncompensated work. In my case, there are a few dangling threads from my previous work that I’d love to wrap up.]
