There was a time when American conservativesthought about solutions like "workfare" instead of "welfare" and national service commitments for youth. Jack Kemp and John McCain come to mind. But I think most self styled conservatives would balk at any government involvement/intrusion today [right, guys?].When "workfare" was the conservative response to welfare I was a conservative. When McCain proposed national service, I was all for it. Yes, I was for F.U.'s approach, in that video.
