Is it just me or have we been hearing about more and more over zealous cops lately? Between the tasering and awful beatings you’d think crime was going up not down. I don’t get it.

The classic example of this in the DC area from a few years ago is that the Prince Georges county police raided a guys house complete with the seemingly mandatory dog shooting only to find out he was the mayor of the town. It lead to a huge investigation to how much the cops are relying on no-knock warrants and paramilitary assaults. That tale always makes me wonder just how many times this happens to less well-connected people.

It’s all part of the War on Drugs. As we all know, once you define something as a “War”, any and all tactics are justified.
