Venus transits the Sun

This is the last transit in our lifetimes.  Do not stare at the Sun with your naked eyes or view with a telescope or binoculars.  Use welders’ darkest goggles.  I have never trusted the smoke colored plastic they give out for solar eclipses.  The safe way to view is with an old fashioned homemade pinhole “camera”.  See:

Begins 5 PM CDT.

  1. here’s a site that’s tracking the transit. it will show you what time Venus will make contact based on your location you can move a bar forward in time to see where it will go and what your viewing window is.

Yeah, I guess we’ll all be dead by 2117, unless the scientists come up with something really spectacular.

I love eclipses. I always think of earthquakes for some reason (don’t ask).
