A little Christmas video for your viewing pleasure. Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Festivus. I’m hoping you have a nice relaxing weekend and enjoy friends and family. Our daughters dog Pursy Lane is always able to sniff out her gift under the tree so this one made me laugh. I doubt she’d have the patience this dog displays so we never put her gift out until we’re ready to open presents, which she thoroughly enjoys.
As I type this we’re anxiously awaiting our daughters arrival back in Denver after a delay getting home from a research trip in San Salvador (bad weather in Atlanta last night). After picking Pursy up from the kennel she’s heading out later today on a 15-16 hour drive home, hopefully to arrive on Christmas Eve. Sunday morning we’re going to our sons house for a day of gifts, food, games and laughter. What are your plans for the weekend?
Also, I hope to be around more after the first of the year. You’ve all done a great job lately and I’ve missed participating.

lms, this is priceless!!! I love his expression at 0:47 ("Mom says wait"). Like you, I can't imagine my dogs being this patient. Merry, merry Christmas to you, and safe travels to daughter and Pursy!I'm spending a quiet weekend with The Beasties (Mandy, male domestic tabby, Quark, female tortie and household terrorist, Daisy, my avatar and mama's dog, and Geno, male Golden/Newfie mix) culminating with Christmas dinner with some good friends and new acquaintances Sunday night. Monday I fly to MI to spend a few days with the Michiflock–maternal Grandma, parents, brother and nieces/nephews, maternal aunt and cousin and then paternal aunt and cousins. By New Year's I will have seen my entire family in person for the first time in about five years–good times!

DECEMBER 23, 2011, 10:10 AMMF Global Trustee Seeks Money From British ArmBy MICHAEL J. DE LA MERCEDThe trustee liquidating MF Global’s trading operations said on Friday that his office was seeking the return of more than $600 million from the failed firm’s British arm, potentially setting up a cross-border fight over customer money. The trustee, James W. Giddens, said in a statement that he had identified about $600 million to $700 million in American customer money held at MF Global U.K. That money, he said, was held for clients who traded on foreign exchanges. But KPMG, the court-appointed administrator for the British subsidiary, disputes that conclusion. In a news release last week, KPMG officials said they had recovered £594 million, or $931.1 million, of client money and £201 million, or $315.1 million, of company money. The administrator plans to begin returning money to British customers “as soon as reasonably practicable.”“I am disappointed in the U.K. administrators’ position,” Mr. Giddens said in a statement. “While we have made significant progress in identifying and distributing customer property held by U.S. depositories, the U.K. administrators’ position will significantly affect, in the near term, my ability to return a substantial amount to U.S. customers dealing in foreign futures.”But there are relatively few options for Mr. Giddens’ office to pursue. One of the most likely courses of action is to file a claim in the British court proceedings, in which the probability of success is uncertain but likely low. Many clients of Lehman Brothers whose positions were held at the collapsed investment bank’s British arm sought for months to try to unfreeze their money, but were forced to liquidate their positions. The dispute highlights the growing difficulty that Mr. Giddens faces. His team has distributed most of the money held in U.S. depositary institutions, returning about 72 percent of customer money. But there is still $1.2 billion in customer money that hasn’t been accounted for.(The money at the center of the tiff between Mr. Giddens and KPMG isn’t considered to be part of that pool of missing cash, instead belonging to a separate pot of customer money.)

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkuh, all, God bless everyone–especially the nonbelievers.I have been and am going to be scarce for a bit. Believe it or not, I'm in the middle of some work emergencies, which, typically hit over the holidays. I have to deliver a project for a client on Monday. (Remember that when you complain about undeserving "millionaires and billionaires," Barack Obama!) On the bright side, hopefully it will lead to more work and a better 2012.

We had a very successful Christmas season this year with the top selling product on Amazon in our category for the last couple of weeks. Yay, it only took 30 years. Don't work too hard….family is important also.

God bless everyone–especially the nonbelievers. Thanks, qb! I think that I fall into this category for you, although it's not so much that I don't believe as that I don't know any more (and haven't for a long time) camp. I, for one, miss you around here and look forward to when you can comment more, millionaire and/or billionaire though you may be!P.S. I can be adopted! 😀

LMS, thanx for the video. Deferred gratification is tough enough for us that we feel that bulldog's pain!QB, I know what last week of the year madness looks like on deal closings, but thankfully for me that is past. Nevertheless, I came awfully close – a specialty cookie mfr I represent thought he needed a distrib. contract with a CA distributor before 12-31. Fortunately for me they moved it to the next quarter's end, 3-31. Finish up and get home as fast as you can!
