BP At Fault for Deep Water Horizon Disaster

Ya think?

“Federal investigators issued a report concluding that the Deepwater Horizon oil-rig disaster was primarily due to BP’s cost-cutting measures and poor safety standards — and that BP is ultimately to blame.”

  1. How long until Joe Barton demands the investigators apologize to BP?

  2. Aren't BP's profits at record highs? I'd hate to see the cost cutting that BP would do if they were hurting for profits. For the antiregulation folks out there, like Ron Paul, what non-government entity would they suggest regulate BP, or would they just leave BP to its cost cutting ways?

  5. "For the antiregulation folks out there, like Ron Paul, what non-government entity would they suggest regulate BP, or would they just leave BP to its cost cutting ways?"I'm not sure Ron Paul would, but it would be a good question to present to him. Such difficult and dangerous stuff should be regulated by somebody, and I'd rather it be the US government than some international body, but that may just be me. I do support open drilling, generally. I am a "drill, baby, drill" person at heart, but I'm opposed to the sort of cost-cutting and poor-safety-regulations clearly at play in the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster. I'm very insistent that that oil comes out, goes to our refineries, and into our gas tanks and molded plastic fittings for our cell phones. What happened with Deepwater is inexcusable to me. We don't "drill, baby, drill" to waste such vast amounts of precious black gold by having it pollute the ocean. It's need to be getting pumped into my gas tank!

  6. "How long until Joe Barton demands the investigators apologize to BP?"He's already demanded that the ocean apologize to BP for getting their oil rigs wet, I'm not sure how much further he can go. 😉
