Now the World Bank is blaming its parents.
Can you believe this?
“The head of the World Bank said Wednesday the world had entered a new economic danger zone and that Europe, Japan and the United States all need to make hard decisions to avoid dragging down the global economy.” Reuters
Hey World Bank, who owns you? Are you sucking up to China now too?
Sheesh, yesterday we had a Russian oligarch inviting European oligarchs to kill themselves, now our own creation, our neo-colonialist front-bank, says we need to get in shape. What is the world coming to?

If the USA, the Eurozone, Canada, Australia, and Japan had the guts to walk out of WTO and the World Bank and start their own free and fair trade zone they/we could manage quite well, I think. Invite countries in as they approach parity on wages and hours, freedom, and environmental agreements. New Zealand would be a candidate for an invite. What stands in the way? Non-state interests, only, I think. What else?

If it's an Oedipus problem when the son wants to take out the father, to which Greek tragedy do we refer when the son gets smacked down for being too big for his britches?

Is anyone really a fan of the WTO? Wouldn't libertarians and conservatives like to see them gone, period, while liberals and socialists would like to see it replaced with an organization that was more progressive? Or more concerned with human rights and the rights of labor?

Actually, some of our recent treaties stand in the way, don't they? Take NAFTA, for example…
