Being a good lobbyist means working your connections. And as it is happens, I’ve got a meet and great with Santa Claus at the White House tonight.
One of the fun parts of living in the DC area is the National Christmas tree and other decorations. There’s a Santa’s workshop on the Ellipse. We’re taking the little guy to visit this evening after work. My understanding is there’s a mailbox with a to Santa. There’s other fun things, such as the fact that each state has an ornament.
So, if any ATiMers have any Christmas wishes (or any other type — Festivus and the airing of grievances, perhaps), post them here, I’ll pull them together and make sure that Santa gets the ATiM list.

Here’s my list
1. Fiscal cliff deal
2. al-Assad in exile or jail
3. Disappearance of Hamas’ rockets
4. Greeks getting their economic asses in gear
5. World Series victory for the Cubs
6. Funding for the NIH (and me)
7. Good health and happiness for all the ATiMers
And a pink unicorn and a pony.

I’d like to lobby for world peace but everyone does that, instead I’ll just be selfish ask Santa if he could let me wake up on Christmas morning and be 65. My husband received his Medicare card in the mail yesterday and I’m so jealous. I haven’t wished to be older since I was 15………………….hahahaha.

Give that little guy a big hug from his cyber Auntie Lulu, he’s precious as we were all reminded today. Hope Santa is good to him.

I’ll have to post a pic. He was so excited. And then it was stink-eye when he say on Santas lap. He manages to grumble that we wanted a blue truck.
Great event though.

So last night was the eighth night of Chanukah. The twins have not had presents every night but have been involved with gift giving every night to various family and friends and, of course, this has been satisfactory. Most nights they have played dreidel with us and we will play with a huge family gathering this afternoon, for chocolate coins covered in gold and silver foil. One twin, Rebecca, is a lively gambler, eager on each spin, yelling for the “gimel” to come up so she can win the pot. Julia, otoh, gets sad when she doesn’t win, crawls under the glass table, and says “you spin for me and tell me if I won”.
They got a special present from me on second night: an Android wifi pad loaded with kids apps. They are sharing well.
They got a special present from Jen [their mom] last night – a huge three story kidcraft doll house, which took me with various helpers 4.5 hrs to put together [at my billing rate, that was an expensive doll house]. I named it casa horribilis. The twins oohed and aahed about it, but as I had predicted earlier, did not have an abiding interest in it. In fact, later I asked them what they had been doing in their room. R: “We are pretending our room is a space ship.” J: “We fly through space to different worlds.” MiA: “So now you are in the kitchen looking for apple juice?” J: “No, we are on a different world, looking for apple juice.”
Actually I am glad they do not give a shit about toys.
Especially since they love books.

Happy Chanukah Mark. We’re taking our grandson to his first concert at the Fox Theater in Riverside for Christmas, his grandpa bought him Superman Legos, the only real toy he ever plays with, and his old grandma bought him several books.

I love your story Mark, especially Julia’s answer about being on a different world looking for apple juice. Kids are great!
